We receive letters every day from people that have read our books. These letters come directly from men and women at correctional facilities all across the United States as well as from other organizations receiving our books.

1,227,368 Books Donated

My name is Julian H. and I am an inmate here at the Gist Unit in Beaumont, TX. I was gifted two books from the chaplain here at the unit: “Think & Grow Rich,” and “Mentor: The Kid & the CEO.” These two books are powerful. Because of these books, I now think only in a positive way, I now write down my plans of action, and I now seek only specialized knowledge. These books have definitely helped me rehabilitate and do my time here in prison. I love to read and I would be forever grateful if you could send me some more books to read and apply to my life once I am released from prison.

Thank you,

Julian H.

I received a book (The Purpose Driven Life) that was gifted by you. I felt the need to take the time to say thank you. I don’t know if you donated 1 or one thousand books, but this copy was received by me, at a time when I needed it most. Lost, alone, in prison. I learned from my pastor growing up if someone is nice enough to do something for you, have enough sense to say thanks. So I can’t do much but say thanks, and let the WORDS OF THIS BOOK INSPIRE CHANGE IN MY LIFE & THEN SPREAD THE WORD AND ENCOURAGE OTHERS.

Humbly written,

Mr. Karmen W.

I would like to thank you and your family for the gift. I’m reading “The Purpose Drive Life.” I love this book. That has always been my question: What on earth am I doing here, and for what?  I understand finally why I’m here and what I must do for God.  Thank you very much for the book.

Hello. You don’t know me, but my name is Augustus James C. I am a Utah State Prison inmate wrapping up my almost 3 year sentence in Beaver County Jail.  Anyway, the reason for this postcard is to say I am bound and determined to be a successful entrepreneur upon my release, and your book “Mentor: The Kid & the CEO,” really gave me inspiration & additional tools that I know will help me in my journey. Thank you!

Augustus C.

My name is Marco M. and I have been reading “Think and Grow Rich.” It was given to me in a program while incarcerated and truly opened my mind up. Unfortunately, officers took this book due to the limit of books one can have in the cell, and I was wondering if you guys would mind sending me another copy. I hope it’s not too much to ask. I just want to continue reading this inspirational book. When I had first received it I didn’t even bother to take a look but something just drew me in and slowly but surely I began to read.  When you’re out in the free world you don’t even bother to read books due to the fast way of life one lives, but being incarcerated you have nothing but time, and realization sinks in when you uncover the knowledge a book can truly carry….Thank you and have a nice day.

Marco M.

First and foremost, happy holidays to you and your family.  I hope this finds you in good health…my name is Justin A. from Ft. Worth, TX. I am currently incarcerated in the Tarrant County Jail awaiting release on Jan. 28, 2019.  During my time here, I came upon your book “MENTOR: The Kid & the CEO.” I enjoyed the content and was inspired to take action in my life’s direction….After reading your books, it prompted me to grab a hold of my dreams and put them into action.  I’ve found my purpose, and it’s to help others. I’m in the process of starting a nonprofit called “Bring the Hope Foundation.” I have acquired paperwork and I’ve been creating a plan of action to obtain the means I need to accomplish my goal of helping others……You have been a real inspiration to me and my plans of success. I hope to one day be able to shake your hand and thank you.

Justin A.

First, I want to thank you for your generosity; providing all those books to us (in jail). I read “The Purpose Driven Life,” by Rick Warren & noticed that the “Pace Family” located in Oklahoma was responsible for donating the books…..

Someone suggested – wait – no, I saw the money back guarantee on “MENTOR: The Kid & the CEO,” and my friend and I decided to read the book. Well my friend read & loved it, but it took me about two months for me to pick it up on my own volition. When I read it, I absolutely loved it. It gave me HOPE. In a place like this, hope is priceless. I want what they had, and I am doing what is described & laid out in your book to attain those things….I am very much interested in becoming the best me I can be….

Best & Warmest Regards,  Aimee J. H.

I am writing to express my deepest gratitude for the wonderful services & books that you offer. Thus far I have read “MENTOR: The Kid & the CEO,” by Tom Pace, and “Think and Grow Rich,” by Napoleon Hill, both of which have changed my life. I would be ever grateful for any books and material you could send to me that would aid in my growth. I am currently serving a sentence at Emanuel Women’s Facility. This time has changed me for the good in ways that are unimaginable!  Thanks again for all your help!

My name is Frederick E. S.  I am currently incarcerated in the Texas Department of Corrections.  I am a 46 year old male.  This is my first & last time to the penitentiary. 100% sure. But, while I have been locked up I have had the most wonderful experience I’m sure anyone could acquire. I read “Think & Grow Rich.”  It has really opened my eyes. I’ve been a leader most or all of my life. I have obtained jobs that most men would give a limb for. Alcohol has been my downfall. A lot of poor decisions on my part have been made. I have been able to find God again and myself, and who I am, and who I AM going to be.

I want to thank y’all for this book, however it got to me. I’m in a cell 8′ x 5′ wide with a cellmate. It is actually his book; he introduced it to me. I would appreciate a book for myself. I’m sure I will read it daily from here on out. I should be getting out soon. I had a 4 year sentence for DWI, I’m at 2 1/2 years left. Before I came here, I always was looking for something. It was these words of wisdom.

Thank y’all so much for doing what you do. I just want you to know that it has changed my life and I will use the tools that the book has given me to be the absolute best for the rest of my time here….I am 100% sure of what I need to do to get my company up & running and try to become the best that this world will allow.  Thank y’all so much.

Frederick E. S.

Hi, my name is Masson F.  I am currently incarcerated at the Ada County Jail in Boise, Idaho.  I had reached out to you guys about a book called “Think and Grow Rich.”  I have received this book.  I wanted to thank you very, very much for sending it to me.  I’ve read it 4 times all the way through and I’ve been underlining the parts of the book that stand out to me.  It is a very interesting book, and I’ve already started following the 13 Steps.  When I wrote you about this book I didn’t know who you were, and then I came across a book in my cell block that had your name all over it.  The book is called “MENTOR: The Kid & the CEO.”  I looked at the author’s name and it said Tom Pace; I was thinking to myself that name sounds so familiar.  So then I looked at the back of my “Think & Grow Rich” book and there’s your name again.  That’s when I realized you’re the one that made it possible to send me my “Think & Grow Rich” book from the World Family.  Thank you. I like also that it is the original edition.  After I received your book “MENTOR: The Kid & the CEO,” I automatically started reading it. I was intrigued.  It made me start changing the way I was thinking.  I’m now keeping myself in a positive mood.  I now want to read all the time to achieve significance and build knowledge.

These two books have given me the foundation to get out of jail and be successful.  It’s so strong in my mind that I think about success constantly now.  I’ve taped self-affirmations to the top of my bunk and I say them aloud to myself…….I thank you so very much for your commitment in helping others.  It’s very much appreciated.

Masson F.

Good afternoon. I have recently heard about the availability of two books you are currently offering that would have a major impact on positively changing my life.  “MENTOR: The Kid & the CEO,” and “Think & Grow Rich.”  I would be thrilled to receive a copy of both of these and any other reading materials or study guides pertaining to personal growth and becoming a positive successful businessman in my community.  I thank you for your help and service you are offering along with the opportunity to learn and grow. Thank you for your time.

Kyle M.

My name is Parnell B.  I am an inmate presently incarcerated at the Cook County Jail in Chicago, Illinois.  I just read a copy of “The Purpose Driven Life,” by Rick Warren, and it has changed my life tremendously.  Now I know and understand God’s plans for me, and it has given me lots of spiritual guidance…

Thank you and God Bless you Pace Family!!!

Darnell P.

I am writing to thank you for your generous donation of multiple copies of “The Purpose Driven Life” to the chaplain’s lending library at Rio Consumnes Correctional Center in Elk Grove, California.  I am certain that your generous donation will positively impact the lives of countless women (and their families) incarcerated at this facility.  I believe if others were as generous, our nation’s jails and prisons might be able to shift into a rehabilitative method of operation, and be more effective overall.

I received my borrowed copy of this book today, and was wondering if you donate to private citizens.  I would love a copy of my own.  My release date is November 13th of this year, but I intend to continue my studies after my release.  Do you offer any other titles?  I am particularly interested in the companion workbook to “The Purpose Driven Life,” or a good study Bible.

Once again, thank you very much for your incredible generosity.  I’m sure its positive effects are more than any of us could imagine.  Thanks and God bless,

Shanie P.

My name is James L.  I’m 37 years old from a little town in west Texas called Sweetwater.  I’ve made a lot of bad decisions in my life, but have recently turned my life around and started doing better.  Currently I’m incarcerated, paying for some of those bad choices.  I picked this time to start a new journey in life, which has helped me grow mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.  I have had a lot of time to read on my hands, which has given me a few tools for this growth.  I had about used up my free resources here in the mailroom when God opened my eyes to something.  Out of the 4 or 5 books that they have and offer here, my 3 favorites have something in common.

“A Purpose Driven Life,” “Think & Grow Rich,” and “Mentor: The Kid & the CEO” are all PACE FAMILY books.  I honestly wanted to write to say thank you, and say that what you all are doing is a wonderful thing…..you all have helped me more than the words on this paper can ever express….God bless you all.

James L.

Yesterday at our unit AA meeting a new-comer had an original copy of our Big Book from the World Family.  I had only a chance to glimpse at it, and ask the gentleman if I could get the World Family address to obtain my own copy.  I have been in AA for five years and have heard about there being copies out there, and have been praying for one.

Would you please send me the information on how I may obtain my own cherished original AA book?

Thank you and God bless,

Curtis S.

Yes!!  As said in the study guide in your gift “Think & Grow Rich,” “I have now the courage to see myself as I really am, henceforth now have the ability to profit from the mistakes I have made in the past; Have made to learn something from the experiences of others by analyzing those within myself to overcome the fear that impedes positive will and progress to conquer my destiny.”

I am now confidently sure that successful realities are within my reach…..Thank you.

I’m currently incarcerated in Oregon.  I went to segregation for 20 days.  During that time I came across your book “MENTOR: The Kid & the CEO.”  Such an amazing book.  Not only did it keep me company, it showed me that we all need a mentor.  I started going to AA, reading self help books, and found a mentor who studies psychology – all changing my behavior/character defects.  I would love to read more of your books.  Any help would be appreciated.

Anthony M.

Hi!  my name is Bobby W.  I am currently incarcerated at the Johnston Unit in Winnsboro, TX.  I’m in here for my 4th DWI.  I was charged with a 3rd degree felony.  I’m trying to work on my recovery here and I’m asking if you would PLEASE send me an AA (Alcoholics Anonymous) book.  I’m strapped for cash at this time so I’m asking for a gift.  Please help me.

Bobby W.

Hi, My name is Brandon M. I’m an indigent inmate at the Gregg County Jail in Longview, Texas.  The reason I am writing is to thank you for the great service you are providing.  I stumbled across one of your printings of the book, “Think & Grow Rich,” by Napoleon Hill.  I did not anticipate the paradigm shifting and perspective altering nature the contents of this book would bring into my world.  Let me say that I am following the instructions laid out by the book and fully, because I completely understand and believe what it says, expecting the results it is describing and have already noticed a difference.  Thank you for providing this utterly profound literature to people free of charge….

Brandon M.

I am contacting you from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice and am interested in receiving a copy of Napoleon Hill’s “Think & Grow Rich.”  Another inmate shared how much it has changed his life and I would like to experience the same.

I appreciate in advance your help with this request and look forward to getting a copy of the book.

Jason M.

I am attending a Bible Study, “The Purpose Driven Life,” by Rick Warren, and I am greatly blessed by this book.  It is a ten-week course here in the Harris County Jail in Houston, Texas.  On the back of the book I noticed the address and the Pace family.  Brother Ken let us know that the Pace family donates this book to county jails.  My prayers are that your ministry and you are richly blessed.  Thank you very much for standing in the gap.  Smile – Jesus Loves You.

Ruben D. and Brandon B.

I am currently incarcerated and stumbled across a copy of Napoleon Hill’s “Think & Grow Rich” from one of my cellmates.  In all honesty, and this is no exaggeration, this book has completely transformed my entire perspective of life in general….I not only look at the world differently now, but this book helped me reflect on myself and realize that I’ve been wasting my precious time on this glorious planet by submitting and exposing myself to a life of crime, which all stemmed from my negative mindset….

Joshua M.

Dear World Family,

My name is Joshua G. I’m currently 25 years of age.  I would like to start by thanking you all for putting such an extraordinary book together.  It has truly been an inspiration and benefit towards my life.  I’m now on my way toward financial, spiritual, and mental success, because as a man thinks, so is he.  There is vast knowledge written in this book.  I truly appreciate Tom Pace and the World Family for allowing everyone to obtain the knowledge that is written in this book.  Much love and respect!  God Bless!

I just finished reading the book “Think & Grow Rich,” by Napoleon Hill.  This book has changed my life and the way I pursue things.  It is a gold mine.  I would very much like to read more of Napoleon Hill’s material if available.  Thank you so much for your efforts.

Michael A. M.

My name is Clinton C. and I am currently incarcerated at the Dominguez Unit in San Antonio, TX.  I’m writing you asking if you could please send me a copy of Napoleon Hill’s “Think & Grow Rich” book please.  I’ve been blessed to read part of it.  It is a very inspiring book, and I believe it can keep me on the path of righteousness and success.  Thanks and God bless,

Clinton C.

This book has changed my life.  Me and my good friend just finished the journey.  He encouraged me to do it with him and at first I thought it was just another religious book.  Boy was I wrong.  I have learned so much and can now serve the Lord more wholly and efficiently because of this.  So much so that I would like a copy to share with others and go on again myself.  Thank you and God bless,

Deante M.

Hello, my name is Buddy A. and I’m writing to let you know that someone here at the French M. Robertson Unit in Abilene, TX let me read the book called “The Purpose Driven Life,” by Rick Warren.  Unfortunately, he left before I could finish the book.  I’m on day 12 of the book and would like to know if I can get a copy of this book.  I believe this book has helped me to change and I will continue to use this book for the rest of my life.  Thank you & God bless,

Buddy A.

I had written a while back requesting a copy of the Alcoholics Anonymous Book that y’all had donated to our county jail.  I received it shortly after sending the letter and I wanted to start off by saying thank you from the bottom of my heart.  I reconnected with God through the AA book and it has led me to reading the Bible again on a daily basis.  Praise the Lord!

A young man recently moved in the tank I am in and was fortunate to get a hold of an AA book that y’all had donated.  I have helped him work through the seventh step, which is really as far as we can go in here, but more importantly, his purpose in life has become more clear to him.  God works wonders in us as long as we are willing to let him.  With lots of love,

Cole R.

A friend of mine told me about this book called “The Purpose Driven Life,” by Rick Warren.  She said I would love it.  I’m currently locked up in the Henley Unit at Plane State & I’m in the Faith Based Dorm.  I was raised in the word of God & somewhere along the way I fell into addiction.  I feel God put me in here for a reason & it’s a struggle every day but I always try to stay positive with God in my heart.  God is always there for me & never lets me down.  If it’s possible, I wanted to request a copy of that book if you are able.  Thank you so much and God bless.

Kimberly M.

Hello!  My name is Kiley S. I am an inmate at Oklahoma County Jail.  This may seem strange, but I happened to stumble across an Alcoholics Anonymous book (First Edition) in the new cell I just moved in to.  On the back cover of this book, your address is listed and it says, “A Gift for You.”

This very book has contributed to my life being turned around here in the county jail.  I’ve read it cover to cover and can’t really even put into words my gratitude to your organization for it landing in my path.  I would just like to thank you for what you do, and let you know you helped change a life around for the better for a lonely sad girl locked up in a county jail.  Thank you again so much!

Kiley S.

Hello, My name is Timothy R.  I am a father of 3 and a husband. Right now I’m currently serving an 8 year term and always looking for a new found life in God’s word and a way to gain more wisdom as a Christian.  I am respectfully requesting a “Purpose Driven Life” book if at all possible.  I’m not the wealthiest man and would like any assistance I can get in order to get closer to God and to live more according to His word.  If your family can help, it would be greatly appreciated.  If not, no worries…closed mouths don’t get fed so that’s why I’m asking.  Thank you for taking the time to read my letter and consider my request.  God bless you and your family for all you do and thank you!                                                                                                    Sincerely,    Tim R.

My name is Alexis S. W. and for the first time in 5 years, I am sober and I feel amazing. I am currently being housed at Ada County Jail in Boise, Idaho due to my formed addiction. My goals in life are to be a mother and a productive member of society, and with that being said, I’m hoping your ministry can help me. It’s really hard for me to ask for help but I’m hoping through Alcoholics Anonymous I can begin to start working on myself to get better before I’m released. I was told that you guys might be able to send me my own Alcoholics Anonymous book and maybe a journal/comp. notebook so I can chart my progress. Please send me any self help resources as well. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Hello, My name is James W. and I am currently an inmate at the Holliday Unit in Huntsville, Texas. I would love to have a copy of “The Purpose Driven Life.” This is my first time incarcerated in prison, and I hope that it will be my last time in prison as well. I’ve been reading everything in sight, trying to change my life. Since coming in here, I have gotten my GED and have applied to the Prison College. I have read a bit of “The Purpose Driven Life,” and have found it very informative and would love if you could send me my own copy please. Thank you for your consideration on this.

Truly Yours,

James W.

I would like to receive “Think & Grow Rich,” by Napoleon Hill. I have read a few chapters of my friend’s. It has really rekindled a new fire in my heart to change my life. Your organization is partly responsible for that. I want to thank you for your faithfulness in helping others change. Please continue! I plan to learn from this book. My desire is to be able to help others the way your organization does. I also look forward to meeting you one day. Thank you again Mr. Pace. I hope financial blessings pour out on you & yours like manna from Heaven!

The California Rehabilitation Center wishes to thank you for your generous book donation. The work you do by donating self-development and spiritual books to incarcerated individuals helps empower these individuals to become successful once they reintegrate back into society. The books entitled “The Purpose Driven Life,” and “Alcoholics Anonymous” will be issued to inmates participating in our self-help classes and the books entitled “MENTOR: The Kid & the CEO,” and “Think & Grow Rich” will be assigned to individuals in my Book Club. The remaining supply of books will be placed in our institution libraries for use by our inmate population.

Thank you for taking an interest in our inmate population and their successful reintegration into society. We look forward to continuing our partnership endeavors with you.

Cynthia Y Tampkins, Warden – California Rehabilitation Center

Hello, how are you doing? Well I know you must be extremely busy but I just want to tell you how Napoleon Hill greatly influenced my life. I really hope you read this letter. I am currently incarcerated in the Chino California State Prison. You know, all of my life had been one big disappointment! Since I have read your “Think & Grow Rich” book my life has changed – body, mind, and soul. I have positive goals now and I do not entertain any negative thoughts or feelings. I know that I can attract nothing but positive things in my life. I have taught myself pre-algebra and algebra. Now I’m going to teach myself trig. Of course there is a goal out of all this. I am an indigent inmate and I was hoping I could get a free business book that can help me reach my goals as well as educate myself.

I never had so much peace in my heart along with God’s grace. I could tell you my life’s story but that would take a while. I don’t know if you have much time and if I don’t hear from you, that’s okay. I would really appreciate it if you could send me a book list. That would really help. A lot of the things that I learned from Napoleon Hill were things I was already doing but in a negative way. I know now that blessings are way better when earned in a positive way. Thank you for your time. Sincerely,

I’m an incarcerated inmate of Pushmataha County, Oklahoma. My name is Cruz B. I’ve just finished the Unedited, 1930’s version of “Think & Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill and I was VERY impressed with the contents of the book. It’s given me much insight into myself such as how I ended up in here for at least the 50th time! And why I’ve not already taken my life into my OWN hands and turned my mind off toward negative influences both within and around me. Although Mr. Hill’s methods are, or were, pretty much known to me all along, the pages of the book seemed to jump out at me from the quiet and stillness of life incarcerated. I’ve begun using the steps unbeknownst to myself since before this book reached my hands, but unlike many “miraculous” or “living texts or encounters, I was NOT READY for this information the way it was presented to me at this time. I’m fully confident in the manifestation of my situation through my SUCCESSFUL MINDSET and do not wish to give in to negative influences ever again! I do wish to see more in-depth literature on the LAWS OF SUCCESS. Please send it to me at this jail, along with anything else you wish to donate. And as always, God bless!

Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Joseph B. I am 41 years old today and currently an inmate in a California state prison. I just finished reading the book “Think and Grow Rich,” and I must say this book has totally changed the way I see myself and the whole world and has made a huge impact on my life! This is a must read book for all. Can you please send me a copy of the book that I can keep and read cover to cover for years to come? Thank you so very much for your time and have a blessed day 🙂

Joey B.

I’m writing to thank you for your generous gifts to incarcerated persons all over the United States. My name is Brent B. I am currently incarcerated at the Oklahoma County Jail. I was arrested in Las Vegas then extradited to Oklahoma County for a warrant. It was in Nevada that I started reading “The Purpose Driven Life.” It didn’t take long for me to notice that your family had generously donated the book. I am now attempting to read it a second time. Since being here I’ve also had the pleasure of reading your own book “MENTOR: The Kid & the CEO,” and have begun reading “Think and Grow Rich.” I have also been informed that you visit the Oklahoma County Jail frequently, leaving copies of these books, which I have recommended to other inmates…..God bless your family and thank you.

Brent B

My name is Alisa R. and I am currently incarcerated at Cobb County Jail in Atlanta, GA. I am an alcoholic and serving my sentence for DUI’s. I came across a copy of Alcoholics Anonymous – The First Edition – which I have never seen before. I’ve really enjoyed reading the personal stories, as they are different from the AA book that I have which is the Fourth Edition. I am writing because your information is printed on the back cover of the red book and I was hoping that I could get a copy of it, if at all possible. I am trying hard to change my life and having recovery literature and AA meetings in jail seem to be helping me a lot.

Thank you for any consideration in this matter.

Alisa R.

I am a young man soon to be released from the Downtown Detention Facility in Denver, CO. Before I am released I would like to write you and thank you for the life changing donation. When I first got here “MENTOR: The Kid & the CEO” was the first book I picked up to read. I was very inspired by the book, and after about a week our pod was blessed with a wave of new books to read. I instantly noticed two of the books were mentioned in MENTOR: “The Purpose Driven Life,” and “Think and Grow Rich.” I read a chapter of each every day. All three books drove me out of depression and blessed me with hope and faith……… Sincerely Yours,

Isaac T.

My name is Chad K and I am 32 years old. I have been incarcerated for 5 years for a drug offense. These entire 5 years I have been doing everything within my power to better myself.

Out of all the material I have studied, I believe “Think & Grow Rich,” by Napoleon Hill has been the most influential and motivating book I’ve ever read.

Can you please send me a copy of the book? I have been borrowing copies from other people and came across this address on the back. I will truly be grateful for the book so I can underline and take side notes on my own copy to study & internalize. Thank you very much and God bless you.

Chad K

My name is Manyiel P. and I’m 26 years old. I was raised by a single mother who brought my brothers and I to America from the Republic of South Sudan. My brothers and I did not value our education and failed to realize the great opportunity we were being given. All my life I would intend to accomplish something and then I would fail.

While I was in a one-man cell for 23 hours a day, a guard brought a book cart by and it was full of romance novels. Then I saw a green book with gold letters and picked it up and out of boredom I began to read.

I realized what I have been doing wrong all of my life and the reason for my failure was because of my thoughts and how I viewed the world. Once I read “Think and Grow Rich,” I began to attract to myself very valuable information coming to me through people and through books. One of the books that came to my possession was “MENTOR: The Kid & the CEO.” I now have a clear sense of direction and purpose and for that I thank you. Once I get out of jail I will apply everything I have learned and will keep you in the loop of my progress. Thank you! Manyiel P.

I received a copy of Rick Warren’s Purpose Driven Life from your donations and want to share my deep gratitude and appreciation for the love you shared with so many of us!

We have messed up and are broken but knowing Jesus can heal us and knowing our purposes in life can guide us to obey God’s will for our lives – and not return to prison or the old way of life.

May God bless you richly as you have blessed us!

In Christ,

My name is Sonja S. I am currently incarcerated and I was reading your books that you send people – “Think and Grow Rich,” and “The Purpose Driven Life.” I was wondering if you had any other books you can send to me as my time here will not be a short one. I have renewed my faith in the Lord and want spiritual guidance. I hope you have books you can offer to one such as myself. I just want to be better for when I return home to my kids and rebuild bridges I have burned throughout my time. I hate to have lost family due to my drug habit and not being able to get my life together, so if you could also just pray for me cause I know I could use all the help I can get from the Lord above. I pray for restoration and forgiveness. Thank you for listening as I don’t have anyone else to talk to. Sincerely a sister in Christ,

My name is Matthew M. I am an inmate at the George Bailey Detention Facility. I’m not sure this is going to get read, but I wanted to say thank you for giving me the opportunity to read “The Purpose Driven Life, What on Earth am I Here For?” I have been reading this book for eleven days now and I appreciate the changes it’s making to me as a man for my future to come. I have never taken the time to go to church or pray until this fantastic book caught my attention. It was stuck between the crack of my bunk bed. An inmate was using it to stop the bunks from shaking and making noise. For some reason, this book drew my attention like no other. Now this book stays with me at all times. I love this book and always will. It’s changing me to a person my parents can be proud of. I am 19 and I am here for stealing a car (I was just sleeping in it). I had nowhere to go that night and was freezing and tired. The owner saw me in there and called 911. I understand. I would probably too.

I’ve been in here 3 weeks now. I started writing this letter at 4:00 AM after breakfast. I came and laid down about to sleep and for some reason, something told me to write the person(s) that blessed me with this great book! I only have one envelope and paper left, so I hope you get it. I don’t really have anyone else to write. Both my parents are drug users, so, yeah….I want to be different. This book is my start.

If possible, do you have any other books to read? It says to read this only one chapter per day, so I usually re-read the chapter throughout the day. I would appreciate any books possible. If not, I understand. It’s okay. Thank you for this one. I take care of it like no other. It’s my pillow, well always under it if it’s not in my hands. If possible, can you also pray once for me? I would love that. Thank you sincerely for taking time out of your busy day to read my letter. I hope you have a great day. I’m going to rest now, but when I wake up I’m going to read my chapter for today 🙂 – Matthew

First, I would like to thank you for the work you are doing for the Lord. Many people’s lives have been transformed through the Spirit of Christ and with your help providing this service. I am currently incarcerated in a California prison and had the privilege of working my way through the 40-day journey in “The Purpose Driven Life.” God has placed it on my heart that it’s much more than a 40-day journey…..Meaning I could see myself and my family using this book over and over as God transforms us to be more like Christ.

I cannot thank you enough for the shipments of “Mentor: The Kid & the CEO!” I have been handing them out since our first shipment came in. Many of the officers have been involved as well. They have read a copy and are spreading the word about the impact this book can have for those who read it and take its principles to heart.

Denton County Jail has even instated a program for select individuals that are in disciplinary to get a copy of the book and write a seven-page report on it. In return, they get a few days off their disciplinary sentence (normally, inmates in disciplinary are only allowed a Bible).

I really appreciate that the book is well written and easy to understand. This makes it much less daunting for those in our population to read and absorb the information presented.

Requests for the book come in daily. The word is getting out that the book is freely available to any who simply ask for it. This would not be possible without the generous program that World Book Bank has established.

Thank you so much for providing these books to our facility!

My name is Cole, and I am currently incarcerated in the Taylor County Jail in Abilene, TX. I have struggled with alcoholism for 10 years, or basically my entire adult life. I was lucky enough to grab a book off the cart that was made available by your organization. I got the Alcoholics Anonymous book and it has really opened my eyes to restoring my relationship with God…….I also read Think and Grow Rich…..Thanks for everything y’all do.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! I hope this letter finds you in health and happiness. My reason for writing is that I was reading The Purpose Driven Life for maybe the 3rd or 4th time now. The difference was this time it reached me at a time I needed God the most. I had lost faith for many years, so God got my attention the only way a stubborn person learns, through hard times.

I caught your name and info on the back of the book and noticed it was your donation. I want you to know God used your kindness to help me and I appreciate your part in all of this. You are blessed God is using you for His purpose.

So I thank you for your help and if I can ever help somehow, please write and let me know. I am an artist, so maybe that could be of use? Either way, thank you once again….

My name is Nathanial Hearne. I’m the Chaplain at the Boyd Unit in Teague, Texas where we have been blessed by your generous book ministry. Words can’t express how thankful and grateful we are to be on the receiving end of such a wonderful gift.

I have seen tremendous spiritual growth in the men on this unit who take the opportunity to engage themselves in the books you so graciously donated. The enlightenment and knowledge they have expressed to me regarding the depth of wisdom in the books we received from your ministry is amazing and rewarding.

I’m of the opinion this is one of the greatest benefits ever offered to any man on this unit. I’m really appreciative of the numerous resources you provide. If I can be of any assistance you can reach me at the Unit Sunday-Wednesday.

Dr. Nathanial Hearne

I wanted to write you and let you know my friend and I are sharing one of The Purpose Driven Life books that you gifted. It’s been a true blessing and is a life-changing experience. I’m highly grateful for this book. I was hoping to possibly get one for myself. It’s one of those books that never gets old. I can see myself in it and referring to it the rest of my life. If you could send one to me, as I’m in prison with very little resources. If not, it’s OK, and I want to say God is good ALL the time. Happy Holidays and have a blessed 2018.

November 29, 2017, as I lay in my bunk to rest tonight, on my 3rd day in the Tarrant County Jail, I have successfully read, for the first time, word for word, “Think and Grow Rich.” I am speechless about the message I have received from the literature. I feel like I have discovered a secret to life that I have always been looking for!! I will definitely be reading this book one more time at least!! (As instructed). I would like to express much gratitude to whoever and all that made it possible for me to hold a copy of this book today. I would truly appreciate if a copy were sent to my loving wife at home if possible. I will provide the address below. Please and thank you!!

I write this letter from Cook County Jail, where I came to find a book called The Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren. I had this book in my hands twice before, but I did not attempt to read it. About thirty-five days ago this book came into my hands once more. I decided to give it a try. I read the first few pages and continued on to the first chapter. I now have read thirty-five chapters day by day, and I love the book. I can honestly say it has had a very positive influence on my life. I have been studying the Bible about six months. This book has given me encouragement in my studies. I would like to give your family great thanks for making this book available to me, may it have been directly or indirectly. I thank God for getting closer to my life, and changing me for the better. I hope I did not intrude in your lives too much, I came across your information on the back of the book and thought I should let you know your book did good in at least my life. Thank you for your time and may God bless you all.

Sincerely, Mr. Daniel R.

P.S. I will pass this book on to someone else, so that they can get help and encouragement in their life.

How are you doing today? I hope and pray that this visit finds you all well in our Lord, and in great health! I would like to thank you for blessing me with the gift of the book “The Purpose Driven Life” by Rick Warren. It was very enlightening, and the insights provided were much needed and very useful to taking that next step in life. And for finding a purpose for that life.

Thank you, for I have learned the answer to: Who I am and what am I going to do with the rest of my life? I am a child of God, still under development. I am going to serve Him with the rest of my life (which is not my own, but His) being loyal, genuine, and faithful.

Thank you for allowing me this moment to express my gratitude, and for spending this time with me. I’ll excuse myself, please know – that you and your family shall be in my heart, thoughts, and prayers! With your permission, I ‘ll excuse myself with a huge, warm, loving, and grateful hug!! May you enjoy a blessed filled day, the rest of it. May your gift continue to bless and touch others. I wish you enough. And may God’s protection, peace, joy, love, and mercy be with you!!!

With Thanks & Love, Sergio

I really enjoyed the gift of the Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren. Thank you very much. It changed my life dramatically. I am in the Tyler County Jail at the the present time. I was looking at an undetermined time in here. I was about to go out of my mind. I picked the book up and started reading. I tried to go day-by-day like Mr. Warren says to but about a quarter of the way through I couldn’t go day by day. I kept reading. The more I read, the more things changed for the better and better. I received a calm and peace over me. By the time I got done with the book, I received a court date & I am going to get probation in less than 2 weeks. I gave the book to another inmate in here. His name is Ivy D. Thank you.

Hi. I’ve been reading a book you donated to the Garfield Detention Facility, The Purpose Driven Life. Today is day 3. I like it, I’m really getting into the book too, not just reading it. I’ve been underlining what I feel is important, reading each chapter 2-3 times, and doing the Point to Ponder and Question to Consider. I tried to memorize the verses, but I’m no good at that, but I read them over and over again, and I’m practicing finding them in the Bible. I’ve been trying to make a positive change in my life for once. So far…nothing I’ve done works. Something about this book feels different though. It says it’s about knowing your purpose. I think it provides a new perspective, and helps create discipline in your worship. At least that’s what it’s done for me so far. On day 20 of this book, I have what I hope to be my last court date, and possible release. My adventure will be more challenging, and I’m excited! Thank you for donating this book it’s been a great gift so far.

I am an inmate at Wasco State Prison. My name is Thomas and I have a book in my hand that says it’s a gift from you. I read it every day. It’s called “A Purpose Driven Life” and it has helped me a lot. I used to think I didn’t have a reason or a purpose until I started reading this gift from you. I want to thank you and ask if you can send me anything else to help me with my walk with our Lord Jesus Christ. Thank you again. God Bless and I hope to hear from you soon.

God Bless you,

Let me start off by saying that I just got done reading your book “Mentor: The Kid & the CEO.” I have never been more motivated to get out of jail and better myself than I am right now!!!! I’m currently in the Lubbock County Jail with a couple State Jail Felonies pending. I’m going to take all of your advice when I get out of here and also while in here. I would like more reading material, but everything we get mailed to us has to be mailed directly from the publisher, and my Mom can’t afford to do that. So can you arrange for that to happen for me? If so, I’ll read every word and apply it to my life inside and out of jail. This will definitely be my last trip to jail. Well thanks for your time and for writing this book I just finished. God Bless!

Your Friend,

Chris W

My Name is Cyrus and I am currently incarcerated in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice System here at the John Middleton Unit just outside of Abilene, TX. I am writing to request a copy of the Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren. That book has been having a great impact on my life and was finally beginning to discover my purpose in God’s master plan. Unfortunately the cellmate of mine I was borrowing it from has recently been transferred to another unit and took the book with him. Thank you for everything y’all do. Keep fighting the good fight.

I could not be any more grateful for the real life lesson I’ve just read in “MENTOR: The Kid & the CEO.” As I started reading, I just couldn’t put it down, I became addicted to it. The message was clear and understanding. As I read this book, currently being in the Dallas County Jail, my mind was somewhere else. It really opened up my mind in so many ways, can’t wait to put it to the test. I will continue sharing this book throughout my life, especially to young teens like me, who think their lives are over. Also I will be telling my other inmates about this book, even the Spanish speaking people. Can’t wait to share it with my family, friends, and everyone else I can. Definitely will do my best to work on the list and read more of the books. Thank you once again for publishing this book. Keep doing an awesome job. Happy New Years!

Sincerely, H –
